To promote practice-based research that directly informs strategies for improving health care delivery with the ultimate goal of better health and well-being for our neighbors and communities. We are dedicated to conducting research that improves care for whole persons throughout whole communities. Health outcomes focus not only on physical, but also emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social needs.
We will 1) use community-based participatory methods to engage practicing clinicians, staff, and family advisory boards to define research questions that can be implemented throughout the NYU Family Health Centers network of primary care practices; 2) seek to collaborate with other primary care research networks to extend research to broader and more diverse populations; and 3) nurture the development of future primary care-focused clinician-researchers by engaging medical students and trainees in all phases of research conduct.
