The mission of the Kansas Research Network (KPEPR) is to conduct collaborative practice-based research to enhance primary care practice and promote the health of Kansans. The primary goal of the KPEPR is to enhance the translation of scientific discoveries into practical applications that can be delivered feasibly to the many patients who use primary care practices as their key point of entry to the health care system. The mission will be accomplished through the establishment of a network that advances the training of medical students and engages practicing physicians through active participation in the development, planning, implementation, and dissemination of relevant outcomes-based research. Research activities will focus on practical, cost-effective methods for promoting health through prevention, early diagnosis and treatment, and behavior change amongst patients.
