Mission Statement: 

The mission of SAFTINet is to establish and maintain a multi-state consortium of stakeholders dedicated to generating, implementing and disseminating evidence to enhance the quality and value of health care for safety net and underserved patient populations. Objectives: 1. To build and sustain a distributed data network of existing clinical and claims data that can be used to support comparative effectiveness research and quality improvement for the health care of safety net and underserved patient populations. 2. To enable consortium members to have easier access to a broader range of research data to: (1) conduct research that compares various interventions, including therapeutics, diagnostics, and practice-level delivery system characteristics; (2) identify best practices; (3) inform innovations in care delivery and payment mechanisms.
